Do I need a permit to build a deck in Claremore or Tulsa?
Most cities, including Tulsa and Claremore, require a building permit for a new deck, especially one attached to the house or raised above grade. We tell you up front what your project needs and build to the inspected standard either way.
Wood or composite decking, which is better?
Pressure-treated and cedar decking cost less up front and can be stained any color, but they need periodic sealing. Composite costs more at the start and needs little more than washing. Both sit on the same pressure-treated frame, so the choice comes down to budget and how much maintenance you want.
Can you repair my existing deck instead of replacing it?
Often, yes. If the framing and footings are sound, we can replace worn boards, rebuild stairs, and tighten or replace railings. If we find rot in the structure, we will show you and explain what a repair versus a rebuild would cost.
How long does a deck or porch take to build?
A straightforward deck is typically a one to two week project once materials are on site. Porches with roofs, screened enclosures, and multi-level decks take longer. You get a schedule with the written estimate.
